06.06.09 - Art as a Social Transformation: Bridging the Boundaries Between Us
"Littleglobe artists and community participants from arts and community capacity projects including Cuba High School, Common Ground of the Santa Fe ensemble and TOC (Torreon, Ojo Encino, Cuba) ensemble performed at The Lensic in Santa Fe, NM. The evening included collaborative artistic works, conversations, film, music and spoken word. It was deeply moving to see unique stories presented in a perspective that related to all experiences in life. Presentations included a film "Redundance" by Erik Jackson; a film "Two in One" by Aaron Chiquito; an intermedia performance "Birth" with June Folsomito, Samantha Leyba, and Tonya Williams; film "3:10 to Cuba" by 2009 Cuba High project; performance and dialogue with the Common Ground group from Santa Fe. This was truly an event filled with creative expressions." -Jumping Sun
05.22.09 - 16th Annual Jemez Arts & Crafts Show
"This event gathers family, friends, and art admirers deep in the Jemez mountains for a fun filled Memorial weekend. The beautiful Jemez Red Rocks produced an extraordinary backdrop for the many artisans who attended. I found interesting art pieces and shared stories with artisans about their handcrafted pieces. Some artisans I noted were Marcella Yeppa, Jemez (Jemez Traditional Pottery) who produced unique swirl melon pottery. Arlene Aguilar, Santa Ana (Robert, Arlene, & Sons) showcasing large stone inlays emphasizing texture. Delvin Toya, Jemez (Powwow Drums) creating rare drums for sale and notably used by 2004 Grammy Award winners Black Eagle." -Jumping Sun

.::. TOC Ensemble a project from Littleglobe, Inc.
"In 2008, using the experience of the Memorylines project, Littleglobe and The Lensic sent professional performing artists and staff into rural schools around New Mexico as part of the Common Ground Project: Rural New Mexico. For the project, Littleglobe partnered with community members in Cuba, New Mexico, an under-served rural town, and two nearby Navajo communities; Torreon, Ojo Encino, and Cuba i.e. T.O.C. Littleglobe artists visited the region and worked intensively with students, families and elders from each community on a project involving film, music, spoken word and visual arts that explored issues of significance to them. The performance premiered at the Sandoval County Fairgrounds in June 2008. The project was so widely accepted within the community that Littleglobe and The Lensic continue to work in Cuba in 2009.
The T.O.C. Regional Community Ensemble facilitate workshops with individuals who want to become an important contributor to their community and encourage teambuilding for success."

.::. 2009 Eastern Navajo Arts & Crafts Festival

"The 2009 Eastern Navajo Arts and Crafts Festival celebrated its sixth annual event June 13, 2009. ENACF celebrates the enduring traditions and artistry of Navajo culture in northwest New Mexico. Visit the site to see quality jewelry and crafts."
"Throughout the day festival visitors sampled indigenous foods prepared from local plants; visitors bought original creations directly from local silversmiths, weavers, sand painters, sculptors, painters, beadworkers, and quilters. We all enjoyed mutton stew, Navajo tacos, frybread, and other refreshments from local food vendors." -Jumping Sun

.::. Daisy Maria Carreno
"I have always ben inspired and impressed by the formidable painters of all styles, although when it comes right down to my heart's intentions my naive form of composition is what brushes forth as most emphatic. My blissful moments related to my passion for painting arrive in the involvement, the process, and most of all, the attachment to each painting I fee while working in it ... it's as if I don't want to let it go, or be completed." -Daisy
